I'm Doug Sutherland

Doug was educated at St Andrews College in Grahamstown, and this was followed by a couple of years as an articled clerk with a firm of accountants. Business appealed to him more so he went to work for a large importer and distributor of many products.
Along with his brother David, they eventually started their own business, acting as agents and distributors importing various brands of watches and jewellery until he sold his share of the company and took off to go sailing with his wife Marianne and three children, Rob, Andy and Jax.
Doug and Marianne retired to Port Alfred when Doug turned 72 and are enjoying watching their eight grandchildren grow up and play sport at schools in Grahamstown, with the last one finishing in 2026, when Doug will be 85.
