I'm Annette Dale
Annette Dale lived and was raised in a farming community near Matatiele (Kwa-Zulu Natal). When her family was cheated out of her rightful inheritance, it moved her to write about her memories and experiences. The novel was formulated and written from age 18, and it took her many years and a combination of events to write Windomayne, part fiction, part reality.
She started thinking about writing the book at the age of 18, in 1950, and did a rough outlay. She started putting it together in 1976, and began writing in earnest on Tuesday, January 4th,1998, at 1.37:40 am.
The book was published to coincide with her 80th birthday.
Her dream was to see her book printed and published as a tangible legacy to her children and grandchildren. Fortunately, she was able to realise that dream before she sadly passed away not long after her birthday.
